 * A LATE REGISTRATION FEE OF $50 WILL BE ADDED TO THE ABOVE FEES FOR REGISTRATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER JULY 31, 2025. This $50 fee does not apply to players from other associations waiting for release.

There is a 15% discount for families of 3 or more registered players.

If you are eligible for this discount, it will be applied to your Spordle account once all player registrations for your family have been confirmed and players are rostered to their respective teams.

 

All registration fees must be paid no later than November 1, 2025.

Payment can be made in full or by periodic installments.

BRMHA's Treasurer will be collecting all dues.

  • Cheques should be made payable to Battle River Minor Hockey Association and mailed to: PO Box 483, Sedgewick AB T0B 4C0 
  • E-transfers should be sent to: brkminorhockey@gmail.com. Please put your child’s name(s) in the Memo of your e-transfer.

 


 

BRAND NEW PLAYERS TO HOCKEY - CREATING A NEW HCR NUMBER

New participants who have NEVER registered in a Hockey Canada sanctioned program before will need to create a Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) profile/number before they can register with Battle River MHA.

To create a new HCR Profile/Number (download Creating an HCR number.pdf):

>> Create/login to your Spordle Account

>> Create an HCR Profile for the new participant(s)

Click on the red Register Now button.

Follow the on-screen prompts to create your new HCR number.

>> Register with Battle River Minor Hockey Association as per instructions below.

 


 

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS

1. New participants must first create an HCR# as per instructions above.

2. As required by Hockey Alberta, at least 1 parent/guardian must hold a valid Respect in Sport - Parent (RISP) Certificate before registering their child(ren) with Battle River Minor Hockey Association.

  • RISP certification is valid for up to 4 seasons with an expiry of June 1.
  • The RISP program is an online course designed to protect youth and support Hockey Alberta’s goal of providing a safe and enjoyable environment. It is Canada’s leading program for preventing bullying, abuse, harassment, and neglect for parents, coaches, and community leaders.
  • To look up your certificate number, register or renew your certification, click here.
  • If your RISP Certificate is current and will not expire prior to April 30, 2026, proceed to STEP 3.

3. Register your player(s) with Battle River Minor Hockey Association HERE.

 


 

AA+ TRYOUTS

If a player is trying out for a higher division team (AA, AAA, etc.), the player must first register with their primary association (BRMHA). Players who make a higher-level team will be transferred once tryouts are complete.

Please email registrar@battlerivermha.ca to let our Registrar know where the player will be trying out.

 


 

CANCELLED REGISTRATIONS

As per BRMHA policy:

  • Refunds prior to the time that the player has participated in any on-ice activity shall be 100% of the registration fee paid.
  • After a player has begun participating in practices or games, or has been registered in the Hockey Canada Registry, a minimum of $100 will be deducted from any credit/refund issued.
